4th “Air Silk Road” Summit: 1000 flight-station layout | “General Aviation + AI” — New consumption wave

On September 4, the key forum of the Service Trade Fair — The 4th “Air Silk Road” International Cooperation Summit was held.

The summit launched innovative pilot projects such as “zero carbon airport”, “zero carbon park”, “zero carbon airline”, “zero carbon airport and park joint laboratory”, to promote the construction of demonstration projects for airport carbon neutrality, aircraft operation carbon neutrality, and passenger travel carbon neutrality.

General aviation as the basis for “Air Silk Road” development

At the summit, Lin Zuoming, chairman of the Chinese Aeronautical Society, Liu Daxiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other experts conducted theme discussions:
“New Scenarios of Low-Altitude Consumption Brought by the Fifth Consumption Shock Wave”;
“Aviation Emergency Rescue Service under the Background of New Scenarios of Low-altitude Consumption”;
“Low-altitude Innovative Consumption Service Platform: The Last Mile of High-Quality Construction of the Air Silk Road”;
And others,

Ma Jian, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the Summit, said general aviation is the last mile of the construction of the “Air Silk Road”. In the future, general aviation will play an important role in the construction of the “Air Silk Road” in terms of improving three-dimensional transportation, integration of aviation and other industries.
General aviation is the foundation for the development of the “Air Silk Road” and undertakes a very important historical mission.

Plan to deploy 1,000 Silk Road flight stations by 2025

The flight station is a new type of aviation complex, with the mission of creating a multi-format integration scene integrating international exchanges, air traffic, emergency rescue, etc., in line with the development law of China’s general aviation industry, and serving as a new platform for future general aviation consumption services of low-altitude new infrastructure.

With respect to the spatial layout, the flight stations will be deployed in accordance with the “One Belt One Road”, starting from China, and radiating to the new Asia-Europe Land Bridge, the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor, and the China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor.

From this year to 2025, there will be 800 flight stations in China and 200 in foreign countries.

The Chinese Aeronautical Society and the “Air Silk Road” International Cooperation Alliance will formulate scene standards, and carry out unified planning, specific planning, coordination organization, and operation management of the project as a whole.

As an important carrier for the construction of the “Air Silk Road” and the development of general aviation, the stations can undertake functions such as international exchanges, private flights, low-altitude tourism, emergency rescue, etc. At the same time, it has broad application prospects and huge economic benefits in nine consumer service scenarios, including air transportation, logistics transportation, tourism and entertainment, education and training, international exchanges, emergency rescue, agriculture, forestry and fishery, and information services, etc.

The flight stations will focus on nine major scenarios, relying on government investment platforms and social capital, to build an innovative consumption service platform for the “Air Silk Road”, and to gather nationwide general aviation and other related enterprises and local characteristic enterprises.

“General Aviation + AI” — 5th consumption shock wave

At the summit, Lin Zuoming, chairman of the Chinese Aeronautical Society, delivered a keynote speech. He said that the economic volume of general aviation is huge. Combined with artificial intelligence, it will bring about low-altitude consumption, which is expected to generate the fifth consumption shock wave to the country.

“The first shock wave of consumption is home appliances; the second shock wave is real estate, as everyone knows, from welfare housing to buying commercial housing; the third is the introduction of Internet smartphones into households; the fourth wave of consumption is the popularization of private cars. At present, the economy is facing great downward pressure. What will promote the arrival of the fifth wave of consumption? It is general aviation + artificial intelligence entering household consumption.” Lin Zuoming said.

The entry of aviation into households is likely to be the fifth wave of consumption, which means that the total GDP generated by the new wave may be huge in terms of the value comparison with the previous waves.

How does low-altitude consumption enter every family? A very important thing is to popularize the public low-altitude air traffic road network. If the general aviation is developed, the economic volume brought to the public transportation will increase by a geometric base, which is very large.

For example, in the air traffic scene, the distinction between the sky and the ground will become blurred in the future, especially with the prosperity of future transportation vehicles represented by flying cars and eVTOLs, flying will also become a new type of personalized transportation.

In the logistics transportation scenario, according to preliminary estimates, the air logistics transportation cost is cheaper than that of automobiles. Especially for general aviation, aviation logistics has been started now mainly for trunk routes, later followed by the development for branch routes and the last mile.

In the future, the delivery of goods by aircraft will be highly intelligent, which will save costs and improve transportation efficiency. In the near future, the scene of goods flying over people’s heads will become more and more frequent.
