EHang EH216 participated in test flight with Korean eVTOL in South Korea’s Jeju Island

It is learned from Chinese media, recently, South Korea’s Jeju Island tested a manned Korean eVTOL aircraft for the first time. It runs on electricity, can travel up to 80 kilometers per hour, can transport up to 100 kilograms of cargo, and can currently only accommodate one adult. Jeju Island plans to commercialize air taxis in 2025 and promote tourism development, which also means that “Air Taxis” are getting closer and closer to us.

In addition, along with this test flight, a Chinese-developed autopilot aircraft also participated. On the morning of the same day, the two-seat autonomous aircraft EH216 developed by China’s EHang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. participated in the test flight, flying around Yeouido Hangang Park, Xigang Bridge, Yuldo, and Mapo Bridge for about 7 minutes and 3.6 kilometers.

Seo Jung-hyeok, acting mayor of Seoul, said: “Air Taxis” are the future means of transportation that humans dream of. As a solution to ground transportation problems, urban air transportation has attracted much attention and has great potential for development.
