
It is learned from news posts on Chinese social media Weibo and other Chinese media outlets, on September 29, China’s self-developed medium- and short-range commercial twin-engine large passenger jet C919 with independent intellectual property rights received the type certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The C919 large aircraft is a 168-190-seat narrow-body regional jet developed by China’s COMAC. It is specially designed for short-to-medium routes. The C919 aircraft successfully made its maiden flight on May 5, 2017, and obtained its first type inspection approval on November 27, 2020.
Now, the breakthrough of 0 to 1 of China’s large aircraft C919 has officially been made with the granting of the type certificate.

COMAC has also made preparations for potential export orders for the C919, and the European Aviation Safety Agency has accepted China’s airworthiness application.
According to COMAC, the C919 has received 815 confirmed/intended orders from 28 customers, including 34 foreign orders.
