According to a ChinaDaily article that mentions DongFongWang as the source, on the morning of September 28, a centralized signing ceremony for key projects in Qingdao West Coast New Area was held at the Golden Beach Conference Center. 48 key projects were signed simultaneously through the “online + offline” approach, with a total investment of 120.6 billion yuan.

It is understood that the 48 projects involved in the contract cover 9 key industrial fields, including intelligent aviation manufacturing, “Chip & Screen” economy, modern marine, high-end chemicals and new materials, etc.

Among them, the total investment of 8 aviation and marine equipment industry projects represented by the EHang AAV (Autonomous Aerial Vehicle) project reached 10.5 billion yuan. It has strong practical significance for optimizing the production capacity and energy consumption structure of Qingdao West Coast New Area and effectively filling the blank of the new aviation industry chain.

The project of introducing EHang to Qingdao West Coast New Area aims to build Qingdao into a pilot area of demonstration application star for the development of the international urban air mobility industry by relying on EHang’s AAV technology.

“After this project is implemented in Qingdao West Coast New Area, it will significantly improve the efficiency of local transportation and material transportation in Qingdao, reduce transportation costs, enable the growth of regional economic benefits, and help the upgrading and development of Qingdao’s general aviation industry.” Relevant person from Qingdao West Coast said.
