BYD’s first marine model, the Dolphin, showcased at Columbia Fashion Week

It is learned on December 5 from BYD, recently, BYD and Colombian distributor MOTORYSA officially released a brand-new ocean series model in the local area – the pure electric car Dolphin, injecting new impetus into the transformation of green transportation in Colombia.

Dolphin is one of BYD’s “new pure electric species” specially created for the new generation of young users. The launch event of this model combines BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” design concept to create an “underwater world” full of joy, color and sense of technology. The marine elements on the scene convey BYD’s brand confidence and innovation. At the same time, the event site incorporates dance and music performances such as “light dance show”, showing the passion and vitality of the young people.

In addition, BYD also brought the dolphin model to the 2022 BAHARI Fashion Show in Barranquilla, Colombia’s largest seaport city, ingeniously integrating its own brand’s marine aesthetics with Colombian local fashion design to inspire environmental protection creativity.

The press conference also specially invited Mr. Franklin Ramos Toscano, a well-known Colombian fashion stylist, to be the BYD brand platform, interpreting the marine design aesthetic concept of the Dolphin model and the green concept of electric vehicles on the spot. He said:
“I have been pursuing products with zero carbon emissions and advocating a sustainable lifestyle. Now BYD has given me more choices, allowing me to continue to adhere to the concept of green life. “

BYD Dolphin is the first mass-produced model based on BYD e-platform 3.0. Thanks to the technical advantages of e-platform 3.0, this model can be regarded as the benchmark of its class in terms of safety and performance. Dolphin is equipped with BYD Blade battery with a battery capacity of 44.9kWh, and the NEDC pure electric cruising range can reach 405km. As the first model to adopt the design concept of “Ocean Aesthetics”, the Dolphin has a simple and stylish shape and soft interior lines. It not only has a distinctive personality, but also is full of electric and futuristic sense.

Since 2020, BYD has cooperated with local dealer Motorysa to sell BYD’s full range of new energy passenger vehicles in Colombia, including medium and large luxury flagship sedan Han EV, luxury pure electric SUV Tang EV, as well as Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS High-end plug-in hybrid models such as DM-i. So far, BYD has delivered nearly 3,000 new energy vehicles to Colombia, helping the green transformation of local transportation.
