It is learned from China News Network, on December 2, the Auto Industry Energy Conservation and Green Development Evaluation Center released the 2022 Auto Industry Green Development Index, and NIO was rated as a 5A-level enterprise. This is the second time NIO has been awarded this rating since 2021.
In addition, NIO’s smart electric flagship sedan ET7 was awarded the 2022 Platinum Eco-Car, among which, the three indicators of interior noise, reusability and recycling rate, and car life cycle carbon emissions received full marks.
The Auto Industry Green Development Index is China’s first quantitative evaluation system for the information transparency and green development level of auto companies’ green development. According to the public information, 5A is the highest level of comprehensive assessment based on indicators such as corporate environmental management and strategy, life cycle design, material environment, corporate green governance and social contribution.
In August 2022, the China Automotive Technology and Research Center launched the accounting work on the green development information disclosure of 47 large-scale production auto companies and 108 auto parts companies, and formed the research results of the 2022 green development index of the auto industry.
China Eco-car Certification is a comprehensive certification based on the concept of ecological design and aimed at the main environmental impact indicators of the entire life cycle of automotive products. In April 2022, the China Automotive Technology and Research Center started the inspection and technical evaluation of the declared models, and carried out a comprehensive evaluation of items such as in-vehicle air quality, noise, vehicle life cycle carbon emissions, reusability and recyclability from the dimensions of health, low-carbon and environmental protection indicators. Models with scores greater than or equal to 90 are rated as platinum eco-cars.
