It is learned on December 12 from BYD, following the introduction of the first batch of 500 BYD Qin & Song PLUS DM-i hybrid models to the Colombian market at the beginning of the year, 1,200 BYD super hybrid models arrived in Colombia recently.

The vehicles shipped this time consisted of 200 Qin PLUS DM-i and 1,000 Song PLUS DM-i, which set a record high in the single export volume of BYD DM-i super hybrid models, and also marked that BYD DM-i models became the first A Chinese brand hybrid car that sells well in Latin America.

 

BYD Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i models were officially released in the Colombian market in March this year. With the blessing of DM-i super hybrid technology, the two models are favored by local consumers for their ultra-high fuel economy, strong comprehensive battery range, and light and luxurious aesthetic appearance and interior design.

Since 2020, BYD has cooperated with local dealer Motorysa to sell BYD’s full range of new energy passenger vehicles in Colombia, including medium and large luxury flagship sedan Han EV, luxury pure electric SUV Tang EV, as well as Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i and other high-end plug-in hybrid models.
So far, BYD has delivered nearly 3,000 new energy vehicles to Colombia, becoming one of the major new energy passenger vehicle brands in the local market, and contributing to the green transformation of local transportation.

Up to now, BYD’s new energy products have covered major countries in Latin America, including Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Dominica, Costa Rica, and Uruguay.
