It is learned on February 10 from IT Home that Xpeng Guangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Base has obtained the production qualification and is expected to be open to users and partners in early March.

A source confirmed the above news, “The production qualification obtained in January is currently only producing G9.”

At present, Xpeng has four models on sale: Xpeng G3i, P5, P7 and G9. Among them, the Xpeng G9, which uses a new platform, was officially launched on September 21, 2022. There are 6 versions in total, ranging from 309,900 to 469,900 yuan.

According to reports, Xpeng’s previous G3 model was manufactured by Zhengzhou Haima Automobile Factory. After the agreement expired, it will be transferred to Xpeng’s Zhaoqing Factory for production, and the production of the later P5 and P7 will also be produced in Zhaoqing.

The original design annual production capacity of Xpeng Guangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Base is 100,000 vehicles. In addition, Xpeng also plans to build a factory in Wuhan, but there is no latest news yet.

According to public information, the Xpeng Smart Connected Vehicle Intelligent Manufacturing Base laid the foundation stone on September 28, 2020 in the Intelligent Equipment Zone of Guangzhou Knowledge City. It was originally planned to be completed and put into production by the end of 2022. It also has five major process workshops: stamping, welding, painting, general assembly, and pack. It is used for the research and development of new models, the production and sales of whole vehicles.

As a brand-new pure electric mid-to-large SUV built by Xpeng, the Xpeng G9 is based on the X-EEA 3.0 electrical and electronic architecture, equipped with the Xpilot 4.0 assisted driving system, etc., and uses a dashboard + dual-screen design inside the car.
