With respect to this, Tencent replied that WeChat is internally testing the mini-program “store delivery” service in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen region, aiming to help consumers find nearby high-quality mini-programs that provide fast delivery services. Users in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen area can experience it in the “Discovery-Mini Program”.

In response to the statement that WeChat has entered the food delivery service, a relevant person explained: “WeChat is not going to end up doing food delivery. It is just an internal test of an interface capability, so that merchants that already have the ability to provide food delivery services can access it, rather than doing it by itself.”
