Luckin Coffee launched the “Global Bean Hunting Journey” plan, expanding coffee bean procurement to six major production areas

According to news from New Beijing News on February 20, Luckin Coffee announced the launch of the “Global Bean Hunting Journey” plan to trace the source of high-quality coffee beans, bring back good beans from the world for Chinese consumers, and empower the quality of the coffee industry upgrade.

At the same time, Luckin Coffee announced that Anthony Douglas, the 2022 WBC (World Barista Competition) champion, will join the Luckin Coffee WBC Champion Master Team. It is understood that Anthony Douglas will lead Luckin’s professional team of bean hunters to visit high-quality coffee producing areas and well-known manors in the world’s coffee origin, deeply participate in coffee planting and harvesting, green bean processing, quality control and other links, and seek coffee beans with newer production seasons and higher quality from the source.

At present, the procurement of Luckin coffee beans has expanded to six major production areas in Yunnan, Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, Panama, and Guatemala. As of the end of September 2022, the total number of Luckin Coffee stores has reached 7,846. As one of the chain coffee brands with the largest number of stores in China, Luckin Coffee importrf a total of 15,808 tons of coffee beans in 2021; in 2022, Luckin Coffee announced that it purchased more than 6,000 tons of green beans in Ethiopia, and has also signed a purchase plan to purchase about 45,000 tons of coffee beans in Brazil in the next three years.
