On February 27, BYD confirmed the news that BYD will launch a new brand “F brand” within this year in an interview with a reporter from Economic Observer.

“F brand” is the internal code name of BYD’s profession customized new brand. This means that after the Yangwang brand release, BYD will add another new brand.

According to the latest news from the industry, the first product of BYD’s “F brand” will focus on the off-road field. In the future, the product matrix of the “F brand” will cover multiple categories such as sports cars, off-road vehicles, coupes, etc., and it is not a single off-road brand as reported on the Internet. The new brand is expected to be launched within 2023 and will operate independently of the existing BYD brand. In terms of pricing, the overall price of BYD’s new brand will be comparable to luxury car brands such as BBA.

BYD stated that the “F brand” is a profession customized brand released within the year mentioned in BYD’s 3 million vehicle activity last year. In November 2022, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, said at the 3 millionth new energy vehicle rolling-off line event that BYD will create a profession customized new brand, which will come out in 2023.

It is reported that within the BYD system, the new brand positioning is between Denza and Yangwang. This means that the price of “F brand” may be between 500,000 and 1 million yuan. At present, BYD Dynasty and Ocean series cover the market range of 100,000-300,000 yuan, Denza mainly deploys to the market of 300,000-450,000 yuan, and Wangwang pulls the price to the million-dollar level. From this point of view, the “F brand” will complement BYD’s layout in the high-end market.
