CATL is piloting new layout of heavy truck battery swap stations

According to Securities Times, on March 16, CATL announced that its subsidiary Ningpu Times Digital Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Shanghai Ningpu Times”) and Fujian Haisi Expressway New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fujian Provincial Expressway Group (hereinafter referred to as “Expressway New Energy”) signed a cooperation agreement on the heavy truck battery swap project.

According to the agreement, the two parties will give full play to the resource integration advantages of “expressway + new energy” and carry out the investment, construction and operation management of the electric heavy truck swap stations.
The first phase of the project will take Changle Expressway and Luoyangjiang Service Area as a pilot, and invest in four electric heavy truck swap stations to provide timely energy replenishment services for electric heavy trucks traveling between Ningde and Xiamen, solve the “mileage anxiety” and “energy replenishment anxiety” of new energy heavy trucks, and build the first expressway new energy green logistics line in Fujian Province.

The attendance level of the signing ceremony is relatively high. According to the materials provided by CATL, the cooperation agreement was signed by Zhu Zhengliang, general manager of CAtl, Zheng Yongrong, chairman of Expressway New Energy, and witnessed by Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Ningde Times, and Chen Yuefeng, chairman of Fujian Provincial Expressway Group.

CATL stated that in the future, the two parties will continue to play a synergistic role, closely focus on the high-quality and sustainable development of the expressway new energy industry, further enrich and improve the layout of the expressway new energy industry in Fujian Province, and jointly promote the arrival of the era of comprehensive electrification of heavy trucks.
