BYD Ocean models debut at the Costa Rica Auto Show

On March 2, ByD reported that recently, BYD and Cori Motors, a distributor in Costa Rica, made their debut at the famous local EXPOMOVIL auto show with the Dolphin and Seal, the marine models for the first time. During the exhibition, BYD displayed a rich matrix of electrified products, a total of six new energy vehicles, bringing consumers in Costa Rica an environmentally friendly and comfortable travel experience.

The debut of BYD Ocean series models at this auto show has injected new vitality into the electric vehicle market in Costa Rica. Both models adopt the design concept of marine aesthetics, giving people a fresh and youthful look. The five-seat luxury coupe Seal has become a high-profile new energy vehicle at the exhibition with its stylish and smart design. As the first model equipped with CTB battery-body integration technology, Seal has obvious advantages in aesthetics, safety, handling and efficiency. The pure electric car Dolphin has a simple and capable appearance, which is highly recognizable and futuristic.

Pedro Dobles, general manager of Cori Motors, a distributor in Costa Rica, said: “Cori Motors has 15 years of experience in car distribution. Up to now, in the field of electric vehicles, we have become the representative company with the number one sales in the market. The two marine models unveiled this time have excellent performance and safety, providing local consumers with more choices of electric vehicle styles.”

BYD Seal made its debut in Costa Rica

In addition, other BYD models such as Han EV, Tang EV and the best-selling models Yuan PRO and Yuan PLUS were also exhibited at the auto show. It is worth mentioning that BYD Yuan PRO (locally known as S1 PRO) is the best-selling electric vehicle in the history of Costa Rica so far, and the SUV ranks sixth in the Costa Rica auto market (including fuel vehicles).

Ms. Zhang Jin, sales manager of BYD Central America and the Caribbean, participated in the exhibition and introduced BYD’s new models, Seal and Dolphin, to local consumers. Talking about the cooperation with Cori Motors, Ms. Zhang Jing thinks it is the right decision. Based on the same brand concept and communication concept, the two parties are moving forward side by side, helping Costa Rica realize the electrification of transportation, realize the “zero carbon dream”, and steadily implement the corporate initiative of “cooling the earth by one degree”.

During the exhibition, KOLs such as Jorge Martinez, a well-known local sports channel anchor, and Yokasta Valle, the Costa Rican women’s professional mini lightweight (IBF) boxing champion, were also invited to attend and endorse the strength of BYD’s new energy vehicles. BYD has become the most popular new energy vehicle brand display area in this exhibition.

Since BYD entered the Costa Rica market, it has sold more than 2,000 new energy electric vehicles. As of 2022, BYD has ranked first in local new energy electric vehicles for three consecutive years. In the future, BYD will work closely with dealers in Costa Rica to improve the local sales and service system, provide Costa Rican users with a better consumer experience, and help Costa Rica achieve sustainable development.
